★Description★
Mud agitator is a supporting equipment in a solids control system. It is introduced to stir the drilling fluid and suspend solids so as to prevent solids sedimentation and keep drilling mud uniformity. It can also be used as the tool to mix drilling fluid in the mixing tank.
Mud agitator can be vertical mounted or horizontal mounted. It is composed of four parts, motor, gear box, shaft and impeller. The motor, coupled to a gear box, drives the shaft to rotate and transfer the mechanical power into fluid circulation by the impellers.
The mud agitator impeller can be one layer or two depending on the mud tank depth, as well as the shaft length. If the tank depth is more then 1800mm, a bottom stabilizer will be fixed onto the tank floor for shaft fixing to prevent the impact of violent swing on the device.
The impeller can be flat blade, canted blade or contour blade. It can be welded to the shaft or bolted to it.
In oil & gas drilling, the mud agitator motor and other electrical parts shall be explosion-proof. It is usually co-working with mud guns.
